Clear information about your data
Privacy policy
What stays on your device, how to delete saved data and what happens when you contact support.
Offline operation
I'm Bored: Idea Dice selects activities from its bundled catalog. Version 0.2.0 has no registration, developer-operated server, advertising, in-app purchases or external analytics. The core experience does not require an internet connection. All activity text, translations and fonts are included in the app. The app does not send your settings, selected conditions or completed-activity information to its owner.
English, Spanish, Arabic, French, Hindi, Thai and Russian are available. The app starts in English when no language choice is saved. Changing language does not connect to an external translation service.
What is stored locally
The device stores the number of participants, manually chosen setting, youngest participant's age group, equipment/energy/time filters, favorite ideas, completed-activity count, whether initial setup is complete, selected language, and shake, vibration and animation settings. These settings help you continue using the game on your next visit.
You choose a setting from a list; geographic coordinates and GPS access are not requested. Activity selection uses an age range, not an exact age, date of birth or name. The app does not request access to contacts, photos, the camera or the microphone.
The recent-idea history used to reduce repeats stays only in memory during the current session. The current activity card and timer state are not saved permanently. The app does not keep a detailed activity log with dates; only the total completed-activity count is stored.
Phone movement
If shake control is enabled, the accelerometer helps detect a die roll. Sensor readings are processed on the device, are not written to permanent storage and are not sent to the owner or other services. The app does not keep fitness history or track physical activity. You can disable shaking in Settings; the roll button is always available.
System backups and device transfers
Local saves may be included in an iOS or Android system backup and transferred to another device by the operating system. This depends on your phone settings, platform and transfer method. The app owner does not have access to those backups. Their creation, restoration and deletion are controlled through your device and the relevant Apple or Google service.
Retention and deletion
Saved settings, favorites and the counter remain in local storage until deleted. In the app, open “Settings” → “Delete data from this device” → “Yes, delete data”. This clears the saved game data and resets those settings, then opens initial setup. Further use of the app may save new settings again.
Deleting data inside the app does not remove earlier system backups. Restoring an old backup may bring back previous saved data. Manage those backups separately through iOS, Android or the relevant backup service.
Contacting support
If you choose to email the support address, the owner receives your email address, message and any attachments you send in order to reply and resolve the issue. The app does not automatically send email or diagnostic reports. Usually the app version, device model, description of the issue and, if needed, a screenshot without personal details are sufficient.
Do not include information about children or other personal information that is unnecessary to resolve your question. Correspondence may remain in the support email service while needed to answer and resolve your request. You can contact the same address with questions about deleting information you have sent.
Children and families
The catalog includes ideas for families with children aged 4 and up. Children's activities include adult participation; children under 13 are prompted to play with an adult. The youngest participant's age group is used only for local activity selection. The app does not create child accounts or ask for names or exact birth dates. An adult should contact support on a child's behalf.
External pages and platforms
Opening the published policy or support page uses a browser; contacting support by email uses an email application. You initiate these actions. The rules of your browser, email service, App Store, Google Play and system backup services apply separately from this policy.
The support and policy pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. We do not add analytics, advertising scripts, data-collection forms or external fonts to these pages. When you visit the website, GitHub as the hosting provider may process technical information, including IP address, device information, request time and request details, to provide and protect its service. This is described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement. It relates to visiting the website, not to the app's offline operation.
Policy updates
If features or data handling change, this policy, the in-app privacy information and store disclosures should be updated before the relevant version is released. The date of this page's current revision appears above. Please send questions to the owner's contact address listed above.
